Toxic Comfort Zone

Writer: carol scottcarol scott

As an entrepreneur we know that the choice to take this on is hard. It's not for everyone, but many of us make the decision to try it anyway. I can easily talk about fashion, makeup and travel, that is your typical blog topics when it comes to blogging. It strokes the ego and lets people off the hook when it comes to addressing insecurities they don't want to deal with. Instead, many would prefer to keep smiling and pretending that the elephant in the room is not there. And as a result, believe it or not, these unresolved emotions are embedded into the habits of how one runs their business. By cutting corners, wanting quick money without working out a marketing strategy, avoiding networking with anyone who doesn't say what they want to hear or anyone who is not swiping their card. judging individuals based on how many followers they have and if someone brings their behavior to their attention "they tell them to take the negativity somewhere else". Most people who don't want to face the reality of their behavior are many times people who really don't know what they are doing. Most people are fearful that if they change their habits, that they would have to face all of the mistakes they have made or are making. Stop shutting out help! I know that social media is overwhelming and filled with click baits that get your nowhere. And, I have to admit that I don't blame you, it's enough to make anyone stay in their comfort zone. But little do we know or realize is that this can turn into a Toxic Comfort Zone, where we think we're all about business, when we're actually feeding into the anxiety of what's happening with our guards up. Take the time out and pay attention to your behavior, listen to your responses, watch your facial expressions, body language and most of all how you treat people that are interested in doing business with you. By my own experiences, when reaching out to certain people, this behavior is one that has been adopted as a new way of doing business. Being a shrewd business owner means handling your business.

Shrewd is an adjective that describes someone who is clever at understanding and making judgments about a situation, often resulting in an advantage.
